Wyland (born Robert Wyland, July 9, 1956) is an internationally acclaimed marine-life artist, sculptor, and environmentalist best known for his Whaling Wall murals, a global series of more than 100 large-scale works celebrating ocean life and conservation. Honored by the United States Sports University and its American Sport Art Museum & Archives (ASAMA) as the 2008 Sport Artist of the Year – Painter, Wyland’s art reflects the same grace, motion, and endurance found in athletic performance, capturing the spirit of both nature and sport.
